Florida fans, football team and coaches have been desperately seeking a quality placekeeker for the past several seasons. By first blush, it appears that the Gator have found a quality keeker who will light up the scoreboard from anywhere on the field. Saturday night, Eddy Pineiro kicked his first, second and third field goals ever in a football game.

Weirdly, Eddy never kicked a field goal on high school or college! So, how did he become one of the most sought after keeker prospects in the nation last year??

Turns out, it was a YouTube.com video that made him known to colleges and Universities nationwide last year. The power of social media and YouTube got him a scholarship to the University of Florida.

Former Florida Gators and NFL keeker David Posey had a little to do with alerting Florida coaches about phenom South Florida’s Piniero’s superhuman keeking skills and bionic leg.

He is the best kicking prospect I’ve seen in a very long time and fortunately the Florida Gators signed him. He will develop and over time he will become a very good weapon for the Gators offense. – David Posey
